We are in the midst of our second snowstorm this year and it isnt even Christmas yet. My daughter and son in law and grandson were here today for Christmas. They are headed back to Conn. in this mess. Hope every thing goes well.
Just a few notes about worm composting today
Three reasons to try worm composting.
Composting kitchen scraps in a worm bin is very easy and rewarding. Even if you have an outdoor compost bin, having a worm bin inside makes good sense. Heres why:
WORMS WORK FAST : Worms can convert most kitchen scraps to finished compost in less than two weeks.
WORMS WORK ALL WINTER LONG: Keep a worm bin in your basement, garage or pantry ( above 55 degress and below 80 dgress) and your worms will keep working and making compost right through the winter months.
WORM CASTINGS ARE RICH: Top dress any of your indoor or outdoor plants and watch what happens. Youll get better results than any nasty chemical fertilizer. So throw away those chemicals and go organic.

RED WORMS AND EURO NIGHTCRAWLERS

Its getting pretty cold up here in Maine. Its suppose to snow today, Im glad we are making ice now so we can go ice fishing and smelt fishing, I raise Euro nightcrawlers and they are great ice fishing worms even in saltwater for smelt. They will last on the hook for one half hour. Smelts on Great Bay have been prstty scarce the last couple of years. In order to have good fishing we should be on the ice by the first of the year,
I went to Dresden Maine smelt fishing and caught about a 3# brook trout. Smelt fishing was slow up there also.
I suppose you figured out that I raise and sell Red Worms And Euro Nightcrawlers. Youd be suprised at what you get from these worms. Ill just list some of the things for now.
They eat your garbage and turn it into valuable castings
They save on the landfill.

They are great for fishing
They make great foog for turtles,birds,reptiles, fish food for both pond fish and aquarium fish.
